He is Alive!
Bible verses to read together: Matthew 28:16-20; Luke 24:36-53; Acts 1:1-9
Jesus had told His friends that He was leaving. "Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you" (John 16:7). Jesus had told His friends that they would do even greater things than He had done because He was going to the father (see John 14:12).  Yet Jesus' friends didn't grasp these tremendous promises because they were full of grief that He was leaving them.  They were focused on the end; Jesus wanted them to see that what seemed like the end heralded the grandest of new beginnings!

Jesus suffered, died, and was raised from death!  We belong to the absolute monarch of the universe. The Holy Spirit has come to guide and empower us because Jesus went away.

PRAY:  Dear God, we love You.  Thank You that Jesus is alive.  Amen.
