High School
This
Sunday we will continue our conversation about whether or not belief in
God is rational given the world around us. Are there any arguments to
be made, positively or negatively about the existence of God that do not
appeal specifically to Scripture? We will then seek to answer the
questions about what it means to have a worldview. This will help
prepare us to look at some of the basic tenets of Buddhism, Hinduism,
Islam and Christianity.
Talk About It
- How prepared are we to speak with friends and neighbors who come from different religions or no religion at all?
- Why is it important to have a knowledge of other ideas that might be different than mine?
- Is Christianity really about
us being right and them being wrong? How does jesus (his life,
teachings and mission) really answer our life's deepest longings?

Junior High
This week students will complete "Made to Make a Difference" by Max Lucado.
Yes, you can really change the world
Jim and Curtis (the two men who have taught this unit) will continue to keep in touch with the students encourage them to serve and "change the world" based on what they've learned.
Next, February 16, 2014, Junior High will begin
"The Rabbi, How Jesus Turned the World Upside Down."
Imagine sitting on a hillside in ancient Palestine as Jesus taught you and thousands of other people. But instead of hearing the predictabe words that other religious leaders spoke, you were startled, shocked, amazed to hear this rabbi declaring bold truths with authority.
Our students will encounter these same bold truths from this same authority, to discover how Jesus challenged his followers with new insights on who God is, what God's kingdom is all about, and how we can interact with God.

Preteen (grades 4-5)
The Preteen Lock in is this weekend. Saturday at 7 pm to Sunday after Sunday school. Even if your preteen isn't able to join us they are invited to wear their pajamas to Sunday school.

Key Faith Foundation: Responsibility for Creation
Talk about it:
Find a chapter in the book of Psalms where the psalmist expresses gratitude to God for creation. (Psalms 8, 19, 65, 148)
Discover where in the Bible the Garden of Eden is mentioned, and describe what it looked like.
We look around the world today, we hear about global warming, nuclear wast, endangered species, and all sorts of other harmful things happening in the worls around us. Our environment is in trouble, but is it really falling apart?

After reading the story;
