Bible verses to read together: Acts 16:16-34
I anything more frustrating than not having a chance to tell your side of a story?  It certainly feels like injustice!  When Paul and Silas were beaten because God had freed the slave girl from the horrible spirit that held her, they weren't allowed to speak; rather, after the beating, they were locked into stocks and left in the depths of a jail as if they had committed a capital crime!  On top of that, the prison was cold, dank and filthy, reserved for the worst of the worst. Frustrating! Unfair!

We so quickly forget that we see only a tiny portion of what God is doing in any situation. Just as we are able to view only a small part of the full spectrum of light, we can never assume that we see eonough of any sitaution to justify despair.  God invites us instead to praise him as Pal and Silas did in the dank, cold, dark cell they were chained in.

PRAY:  Dear God, Help us to see You at work and to rejoice, even when we don't understand.  Amen.
